Bold, simple designs with thick letters and clean shapes work best. Text should be at least 10mm tall and strokes at least 4mm wide. Very fine details, thin lines, and intricate elements need to be simplified — the foam doesn't hold tiny details well. We'll advise you if any adjustments are needed before we start.

3D puff works best on firm, flat surfaces like the front panel of structured caps. On stretchy or soft fabrics like t-shirts, the foam can shift and the raised effect won't hold as well. For shirts and soft garments, we usually recommend standard flat embroidery digitizing instead.

Any format works — JPG, PNG, PDF, AI, EPS, PSD. Even a photo of a hand-drawn sketch is fine. The cleaner and higher resolution your artwork, the better, but we can work with whatever you have. We'll let you know if we need anything clarified.

Yes, provided the file is built correctly and the cap is cared for properly. The foam is closed-cell urethane, which holds its shape through normal cold or warm washing. The main risk is heat — high-temperature drying or ironing directly over the puff area can compress the foam permanently. We recommend cool water washing and low-heat or air drying.

Yes. It's common to puff the main wordmark or bold shape while digitizing smaller details — like a tagline or thin icon — as flat embroidery within the same file. This gives you the raised visual impact where it matters most while keeping fine details clean and legible.
